Texas Lawyer: R3 Is the Top Digital Forensics Firm in Austin

R3 Digital Forensics has been named the best digital forensics firm in Austin in a 2024 survey of the readers of Texas Lawyer. This year marks the 10th year R3 has made the list, which identifies the state’s top legal products and service providers and showcases the winners in an annual special edition.

Because of the firm’s multiple years on the annual list of top legal vendors, R3 is also a member of Texas Lawyer’s Hall of Fame.

R3 was founded in 2008 by Reid Wittliff and Roy Rector with the goal of being the top digital forensics provider in Texas. Since then, R3 has conducted more than 1,000 digital forensics investigations and testified in more than 35 trials, hearings, and depositions.

Earlier this year, R3 bolstered their team with the addition of Ryan Lillie as a Certified Forensic Examiner. As the former Detective in charge of the Austin Police Department's Digital Forensics Unit (DFU), Ryan has conducted over 1,000 digital forensic examinations across a wide range of cases, including homicide, child abuse and exploitation, robbery, kidnapping, and white-collar crimes.
