Certified Forensic Examiner

Ryan Lillie joined R3 in January 2023. Prior to that, Ryan was the acting Sergeant in charge of the Austin Police Department’s Digital Forensics Unit, one of the busiest of its kind in Texas. While at the DFU, Ryan worked cases involving homicide, child abuse and exploitation, robbery, kidnapping and a variety of white collar crimes. During this time, Ryan conducted over 1000 digital forensic examinations on all types of digital media. While leading the DFU, Ryan managed five other digital forensic examiners and one investigator, dealt with the unit’s budget and software licenses, and handled case management and review.

Professional Qualifications

Ryan is a Certified Forensic Computer Examiner (CFCE) administered by the International Association of Computer Investigative Specialists (IACIS). He was first certified in 2019. Ryan became Chip Off certified through H-11 in 2019. In 2020, Ryan became a Certified Cellebrite Operator and Certified Cellebrite Physical Analyst and is qualified to handle all aspects of cell phone forensics. In 2021, Ryan earned his IACIS Certified Mobile Device Examiner Certification.
